Dinosaurs & Paleo Pals

Checked October 31, 2026Game v1.0.93 creatures5 mascots

The main trio is a Brontosaurus, an Allosaurus and a Dilophosaurus–human Hybrid. None can be fought. The cheerful Paleo Pals (Benji, Alistair, Stephanie, Dennis and Pterry) are the park’s mascots, and in the developers’ words they help “fund questionable scientific research”.

Brontosaurus

Where: Level 1 (it breaks into the gift shop) and repeatedly in Level 2, ending in the four-dynamite arena.

How to survive: in chases, keep moving forward and squeeze into narrow gaps it cannot follow. In the gift shop hunt, walk between objectives instead of sprinting, and go around its body rather than through.

The lead developer says it was the hardest creature to implement: its length made it hard to run as roaming AI in real gameplay spaces.

Allosaurus

Where: Level 3: the goo-covered rail tunnels and the four-fuse cavern.

The Allo has rules: an in-game note explains that looking at it makes it stop briefly, then it gets angry. Face it to buy a second, then move to the next narrow rock slit. Its body cannot follow you through.

The Hybrid

A Dilophosaurus–human hybrid. It began as a human–raptor hybrid; the team switched to Dilophosaurus for its recognisable silhouette and crest. The developers also named it as the creature they would most like to see as a killer in Dead by Daylight.

The Paleo Pals

The mascots and guides of Dalton’s Dinos. Each has a talk box in the attraction; pressing all of them unlocks Paleo Pal Review. One mascot also chases you in the Level 1 gift shop while you fit fuses.

Quick answers

What dinosaurs are in Terrible Lizards?

Three main creatures: a Brontosaurus, an Allosaurus and a Dilophosaurus–human hybrid. The developers picked Jurassic-era animals that could plausibly fit New Mexico.

Who are the Paleo Pals?

The mascots of Dalton’s Dinos. The developers name Benji, Alistair, Stephanie and Dennis; Pterry is the namesake of the notes achievement.

Is the Hybrid a raptor?

It started as a human–raptor hybrid in development and was changed to a Dilophosaurus–human hybrid, partly because no Jurassic raptor felt iconic enough.

Can you kill the dinosaurs?

No. There are no working weapons. You escape them.
